1 lb Brussels sprouts halved ▢3/4 cup water ▢2 tbsp butter ▢3 tbsp brown sugar ▢salt and pepper to taste

Instructions STEP - 1

Add water and butter to the sprouts (cut side down) and bring to a boil over medium-high heat; cover and simmer for five minutes.  

STEP - 2

Reduce to low, stir in brown sugar, and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes while uncovered.  

STEP - 3

Return to high heat and saute for an additional 5 minutes, or until the sprouts are tender and all the water has evaporated.  

STEP - 4

Eliminate from heat. Seasoning with pepper  

STEP - 5

These caramelized Brussels sprouts, which are delectably fragrant and slightly crisp, are among our favorite side dishes. This recipe will appeal to even the most finicky of pallets.
