CHICKEN STROGANOFF RECIPE

Ingredients 

One pound of chicken breasts, cut into one-inch pieces, one tablespoon of olive oil, one-half teaspoon of paprika, one-fourth teaspoon of cayenne pepper, one teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of ground black pepper, and one-half teaspoon of paprika Stroganoff ▏2 cups sliced cremini mushrooms ▏1 shallot, finely chopped ▏1 small onion, chopped ▏3 minced garlic cloves, chopped ▏2 tablespoons white wine (optional) ▏4 tablespoons butter, 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of fresh thyme leaves, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 1/2 cups egg noodles, 1/3 cup sour cream, plus additional tablespoons for garnishing  

Instructions STEP - 1

To a large skillet preheated to medium-high temperatures, incorporate one tablespoon of olive oil.  

STEP - 2

Concurrently, transfer the diced chicken to a receptacle. Toss to combine the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, and half teaspoons of salt and pepper.  

STEP - 3

Brown the chicken in a hot pan for two to five minutes per side, taking care not to overcrowd the skillet; you may need to work in two batches. It is not necessary to cook the poultry throughout. Transfer from the pan to a plate; if necessary, proceed with the remaining chicken.

STEP - 4

After adding the remaining tablespoon of oil to the skillet, sauté the mushrooms for an additional four minutes, or until browned. Stir in the shallot, garlic, and onion intermittently until they become translucent and tender. After one minute of cooking with the wine, incorporate the butter and flour.

STEP - 5

Whisk continuously while ensuring that nothing burns. Whisk in the chicken stock gradually in order to achieve a homogeneous sauce. Worcestershire, thyme, and the remaining pepper and salt should be added. While bringing the sauce to a simmer, permit it to coagulate.

STEP - 6

Toss in the chicken, turn the heat down to medium-low and continue to cook for 5-8 minutes. Add the egg noodles and the sour cream and stir until combined. Cook for 2 more minutes, add salt and pepper to taste, then remove from the heat and garnish with parsley, if desired.
