▢3 tablespoons unsalted butter ▢2 tablespoons all-purpose flour ▢1½ cups whole milk ▢1 (4-ounce) can diced green chilies ▢1 teaspoon garlic salt ▢½ teaspoon onion powder ▢¼ teaspoon chili powder ▢¼ teaspoon ground cumin, optional ▢1 cup shredded white sharp cheddar cheese ▢2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro ▢2 tablespoons chopped tomatoes

Instructions STEP - 1

Melt butter over medium-low heat in a medium saucepan. Flour is whisked in until frothy.  

STEP - 2

Stir in the milk until thoroughly combined. Cumin, garlic salt, green chilies, onion powder, and chile powder should be added.  

STEP - 3

Combine in the cheese until smooth.  

STEP - 4

Mix in the cilantro and tomatoes just prior to serving.   

STEP - 5

Warm and serve alongside tortilla crackers or dipping vegetables.
