1 lb pork steak cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces ▢1 tbsp shortening ▢1/2 tsp salt ▢1 tsp paprika ▢1 tbsp soy sauce ▢1 tsp Worcestershire sauce ▢15 oz pineapple chunks reserve 2/3 cup liquid from can ▢3 tbsp brown sugar ▢2 tbsp cornstarch ▢1/3 cup vinegar ▢1/3 cup water ▢1 green pepper cut into 1/4 inch strips ▢4 cups rice cooked

Instructions STEP - 1

While using shortening, brown pork sirloin in a large skillet. Pungent with paprika. Brown thoroughly. Stir occasionally and cook for 20 to 25 minutes, or until tender.  

STEP - 2

Combine brown sugar, corn starch, and salt in a medium basin. While stirring, incorporate the reserved pineapple liquid, water, vinegar, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Blend until a uniform consistency is achieved. Add gradually to the pork in the skillet.  

STEP - 3

Stir continuously over low heat until the mixture becomes viscous. Stir in the pineapple and green pepper. Simmer the vegetables covered over low heat for 6 to 8 minutes, or until tender.  

STEP - 4

Serve atop freshly prepared rice.
